[상황]

수잔: You do know that it's like a 2 hour drive up there, and isn't that kind of late to be coming back?
거기 가려면 2시간쯤 걸리잖아요. 돌아오기에는 좀 늦지 않을까요?

마이크: I thought if, you know, worst came to worst, we could grab a room.
뭐 최악의 경우에는 방을 잡을 수도 있겠죠.

 

=> 2시간이나 걸리는 꽤 먼 거리의 와인 농장으로 데이트를 가는 마이크와 수잔. 마이크는 일단 일정이 끝나는 시간을 보고 정 안되면 호텔 방을 잡아서 자고 오자고 말해요. 이때 '정 안되면, 정말 최악의 상황에는'이라는 말을 표현할 때 if worst comes to worst가 쓰였어요!
